How did it all begin?
Fed up with my brother’s constant emails at lunchtime on a Friday asking where he should take his date that evening, I decided to take action! I put together a book of eighty dates for him, written in the format of a travel guide. Each date was given a number based on its stage in the dating game (1 for a first date, 2 for early days etc.), and also a symbol to tell him what type of date it was – a heart for romance, a wine glass for drinks… it was foolproof!
The book was a triumph. The word spread. The idea grew.
Every time I mentioned to anyone what I had done for my brother I was met with an overwhelmingly enthusiastic response, and a suggestion - why didn’t I turn it into a website? Throughout all my research for the book I hadn’t discovered anything on the Internet that offered suggestions and advice on dating venues. There was clearly a niche in the market, so here we are, trying to fill it… hopefully we’ve succeeded!
How it works
Unlike the dating minefield, the great date guide.com is simple to navigate and our date-a-base can be used to search easily for dates by level (from first date through to that special ocassion) and by type (e.g. action or romance).
So, whether you are proposing to wow a wonderful, well educated, woman from Wandsworth on your first date, or looking to liven up a languishing love affair a year down the line, the great date guide.com will have all the answers for you.
In addition to suggesting great venues and activities for your dates, the lovely Miss Mary is always on hand to offer you some valuable advice as you continue to practice the fine art of dating.
We would also love to hear from you, so if you have any recomendations for great dates (or places to avoid!) then let us know.
