Date Description

early daysfirst date West, South
In such a great location, surrounded by parks, museums and exhibitions galore, this bistro restaurant (part of The Gore Hotel) is perfect both as a lunch or dinner date in its own right, or as part of 'a bit of a day out'.

It's just up the road from the Natural History Museum so it's a great place to head to after a spot of culture there. If you don't want to eat, you could just order some drinks in the drawing room - with its open fire and newspapers you'll happily settle in for the afternoon.

190 Queensgate is also a brilliant place to go to for dinner if you are taking your date to the Royal Albert Hall. Have your main course before the performance and then come back for dessert by the fire in the drawing room. 190 also has a rather handy late licence so your midnight cocktail emergencies are covered - rock up, check out the glamorous wood panelled interior, order some classy beverages and get unstylishly drunk 'til closing. Perfect!

On a sunny day why not go for a walk or a boat ride in Hyde Park, or exercise your brain cells in one of the great museums on Exhibition Road, before settling in for an afternoon of eating and drinking at 190? On a miserable day, on the other hand, it's just perfect for getting stuck into a bottle of red wine by the open fire.

190 Queensgate is a brilliantly surprising venue which stands head and shoulders above all the predictable tourist traps in the area.  The venue attracts an eclectic mix of fascinating people, so if you are struggling with your date then may we suggest you try your luck at the bar?!  With local residents and hotel guests mingling together, 190 has the congenial and intimate atmosphere of a private house party and we're sure you'll love it.

"The hotel's bar really buzzes. It is a popular meeting place for Kensington locals - rather like Cheers with a cultured English accent" (Australian Gourmet Traveller)

Fantastic!
I was taken on a date here before going to the opera at the Albert Hall. The food and the atmosphere were great, but the best thing was that they kept our coffee and desert until after the performance. We came back and had it in the drawing room in front of an open fire - it was very romantic and the perfect end to a perfect date!
