Perhaps at its absolute best in the summer, but no less romantic in the winter, Belvedere is a real hidden gem. Nestled next to the Orangery of Holland Park, this is a restaurant for fine dining in the most glorious of settings. Where else in central London can you eat at a restaurant surrounded by green lawns and immaculate gardens?
For this date we suggest you start with a romantic amble in the park (you'd perhaps better make it a lunch date in mid-winter!). Make sure you stop by the tranquil Kyoto Gardens, complete with pond and waterfall, to really get you in the mood.

On a summer's day, get to the restaurant in plenty of time and enjoy a drink on the terrace. If it's warm enough to sit outside for your meal, lucky you! If not, head into what used to be the magnificent ballroom of Holland House and admire. Sky high ceilings, draped silk curtains and a pianist gently sets the tone of the evening, and the food follows in a similar vein. Although no longer owned by chef Marco Pierre White, he still acts as consultant to the restaurant and the anglo-french fare lives up to expectations.
We're not going to suggest anywhere for you to continue your date, as we're guessing you'll be in no rush to leave! Instead, take your time and enjoy the quiet romance that Belvedere exudes and promise yourselves to come back here time and time again.
