Fresh air, beautiful scenery, al fresco dining, a few drinks = romance! There are a million different options to choose from (ah, the freedom of a bicycle…), so we've just picked a couple of ideas to start you off.
If you don't have your own bikes then head for Richmond Park, where you can hire them near the Roehampton gate. From there you can cruise around the park, stopping off for a roll in the grass and a glass of wine if you are well prepared. To make this easier for you, why don't you order a pre-prepared picnic? If you are coming from the Chelsea area call The Bluebird Epicerie on the Kings Road the day before and they will prepare a hamper or picnic basket for you. Easier still, order one online.
With your own bikes the choices are endless, but one of our favourites has to be the Thames towpath to Hampton Court Palace. When you get there, have a well earned drink or two in one of the many nearby pubs, before giving the famous maze a go. If you don't feel up to the whole distance, just cycle as far as Barnes, or wherever takes your fancy!
Whatever you decide, make sure you take a puncture repair kit or spare inner tube, as breaking down on this date is not going to impress anyone.

| Cycling Cycling along the river to Chiswick is lovely - there are parts where you divert away from the river and go through residential areas but it's still a nice route and not too busy with traffic and there are some lovely pubs along the waterside - good for Sunday roasts and lounging in the sun. | Brilliant! I went biking round Richmond Park with my boyfriend and it was hilarious - such a great date! We hired bikes in the Park and took our own picnic. My boyfriend has lived in London for the last 8 years and had never even been to Richmond Park so it was something totally new for him. A really easy and fun date - thanks.
