Borough market is one of the best food markets in London and is easily accessible from London Bridge Station. Potter round the market, grab a coffee at The Monmouth Coffee Company and then cook up a treat back at home. After all, girls love a man who can cook, and we all know that the route to a man's heart is through his stomach! If, however, you decide against going home to show off your culinary skills, pick up a selection of goodies and have a romantic picnic on the green near Southwark Cathedral, or head up to the river bank. Over lunch you can wow your date with your local knowledge... there has been trading on the site for 250 years, the current building was built in Queen Victoria's reign AND it was used as a location for the first Harry Potter film!

As we all know, shopping can be thirsty work, so why not pop into the Market Porter, which has a great selection of beers complimenting the variety of food on offer in the market. If you're both early birds (each to their own!) you can even get a drink here between 6.00-8.30am when the pub is open for the stall workers. If an early afternoon glass of wine is more your thing, head round the corner to Vinopolis.
Whatever you end up doing, you'll love Borough Market... it's well tasty!

 | Ostrich burgers!! Borough market is sooooooo good! With the oven-smoke rising over the stalls, wrought ironwork and cobbled streets, you feel like you're in a Sherlock Holmes film! Delicious freshly baked cakes and bread, French cheeses, ostrich burgers and wine tasting it's status among London markets is up there with the best. There are also some great pubs and bars in the vicinity and a good place from where to start a riverside stroll... ahhhhhhh!
