This is a chic date for cocktail lovers and foodies, with some extra tit-bits thrown in to make it all the more special. Plus if you're not based in London, you get the chance to turn this into a whole weekend of Chiswick fun.
High Road House of the Soho House chain is the first stop. Whilst the main house itself is members only, the High Road Brasserie is open to all and has both indoor and outdoor seating all year round. We recommend a cocktail - they are extremely good here so be careful not to get too stuck in - this is just part one of your date after all! If it's nice weather try and sit outside and do a bit of people watching - good for a first date if a little ice breaking is necessary...
So we've had the cocktail bit; now for the foodie part. For that we recommend La Trompette. Like its sister restaurants, Chez Bruce in Wandsworth and The Glasshouse in Kew, La Trompette has the accolade of a Michelin Star, so you know you're going to have a real treat. As its name might suggest to those linguists amongst you, the food is largely French, with a particular emphasis on the regional cooking from the South and South West. Not that that sort of information really matters when the food is this good!
Take your time over dinner, but if the evening's going well, why not head back to High Road Brasserie for another cocktail. Depending on the stage of your relationship, High Road House do allow non-members to make last minute bookings of their gorgeous hotel rooms, if you ask nicely of course. Whilst we clearly wouldn't suggest this for a first date, it could be a rather glamorous way to end the perfect romantic evening...?
