Do you want to scale new heights of romance? To show your sporty side or just to try something different and fun, think about a climbing date at one of London's indoor walls.
If you've never done it before, then for safety you'd have to have an instructor belaying (climbing lingo!) you. We like the Westway Centre near Holland Park, but there are other options including The Castle Climbing Centre and Mile End Climbing Wall. If you're at Westway, then try Julie's for dinner on the way home to relax in romantic surroundings. Julie's is reasonably priced and is decorated by an interior designer with some wonderful ideas, and there are lots cute little nooks and crannies that are perfect for a date.
A more central alternative for a date would be the ice climbing room of Ellis Brigham in Covent Garden. You'd have to be very sure that your date was the kind of person who didn't mind people watching their endeavours as there is a viewing window from the ground floor of the shop. Afterwards, try Wahaca, an excellent Mexican "street food" restaurant which is around the corner and completely delicious.
