Unprepossessing appearance but well worth some closer inspection. No, we are not talking about your date... We are talking about Hunan, the fantastic Chinese restaurant in Belgravia.
Lying just a stones throw from Victoria Station and Sloane Square is a little gem of a restaurant. Don't be put off by the bland exterior (and interior for that matter!), looks, as I'm sure you know, can be deceiving. This restaurant wastes no time trying to win you over with glitz and glamour - it's all about the food.
So as not to embarrass yourself in front of your date we will give you one tip: do not ask to see the menu! The beauty of Hunan is that you tell the waiter what you like and they bring you out a variety of small "taster" dishes until you say stop! The norm is probably about 10 or 12 courses so, although Hunan is more expensive than your average Chinese, you get what you pay for and that is delicious Chinese food that is far from average!
The Ebury is just across the road from Hunan and is a great place to either start your date, or to go to after your meal. The elegant bar area downstairs is the perfect place to unwind after a day at work before heading over to Hunan for a leisurely meal.

| great I went on exactly this date - starting at the Ebury then moving on to supper at Hunan. It was the perfect combination for a very "early days" date. We had a couple of drinks at the Ebury before heading over the road for a fantastic meal. A word of warning - you end up eating A LOT so this isn't a date for girls with tiny appetites!!!
