Horse Riding In Hyde Park*

Miss Mary says…
A date to guarantee romance and a good laugh!

Date Description

This was such a fantastic date and is so easily organised! You can either ring the number on the Hyde Park Stables website or email them across your details. Just a quick note - don't be put off by the 12.5 stone weight restriction because my partner is over 6ft and even though he is slender, he definitely weighs over 12 stone! They do have bigger horses which are available to ride.

It's best to try and book your session around 3pm which I believe is the last ride of the day. This way you can either travel to London together earlier or meet each other before hand and have a stroll around. Perfect opportunity for some good conversation whether you are newly dating or have been together for a long time! We went for our anniversary to steer clear of the typical fancy restaurant and bar scene...

We got off the train at London Charing Cross and walked by Buckingham Palace and through Princess Diana's walk, which on a sunny, crisp day is beautiful! Also an opportunity to add some pictures of the both of you to your collection!

On arrival at the stables, we just had to fill in a quick form and were then provided with a riding hat and some boots. We booked a private lesson for just the two of us (accompanied by the guide) which cost £138 but it's definitely worth it.

If you are lucky with the weather, you will see some lovely views over the Serpentine Lake, not too mention some great people watching opportunities! We saw a wedding party having their pictures done and a woman pushing kittens in a pram!!

The guides are really friendly so there is conversation throughout the ride. They will probably suggest a little trot through the park which you can obviously decline depending on your confidence on the horse. Thankfully my partner is up for a laugh so even though it was his first time on a horse we were able to try a few things...

After the ride you aren't likely to eat any where too grand as you'll be in your casual horse riding clothes. To keep with the theme of a casual and fun date, you can book in to the Hard Rock Cafe which is only a few minutes away from the park or jump on the tube and head wherever the wind takes you!

This date is fantastic for memories, pictures, laughs and conversation!
