Date Description

weekend dateearly daysfirst date Central

We love this date.  It's fun, it's exciting and it's different. If you've been on one too many 'stilted-conversation-over-dinner' dates this is going to feel like a breath of fresh air... and in fact that's exactly what you're going to get!

For the best boat ride in London, you need to get yourselves to the London Eye Millenium Pier, situated on the south of the river by Westminster Bridge. London Rib Voyages run hourly trips from here all day, every day, although in our opinion it's always worth booking in advance.

Your carriage is a 12 seater 400 horse power rib, comfortable and fast. Starting from the London Eye you'll head east along the Thames towards Canary Wharf, reaching speeds of 35 knots. Don't expect to be travelling at breakneck speed all the way - there are speed restrictions on some parts of the river and you'll want to be doing some sight seeing as well as just racing!

What really makes this trip are the guides. With a stroke of genius, London Rib Voyages have chosen actual comedians as their guides and, no joke (...ahem...), they really are good. They're also very knowledgable and you'll learn some incredible facts about this wonderful city as you pass its most historic sights. Did you know, for instance, that the original London Bridge was bought by Americans and shipped all the way to Arizona in the belief that they were getting Tower Bridge?! (Hotly denied by those responsible of course...)

At the end of the trip you'll be dropped back where you started, exhilarated and tickled pink by 50 minutes worth of excellent banter. But please don't let the date stop there. Fired up by the trip, now is the perfect time to head for a drink or a bite to eat, full of enthusiasm and with lots to talk about. You couldn't be closer to the many wonderful bars and restaurants of the Southbank so you'll have plenty to choose from. Try Skylon (located in the Royal Festival Hall) for a wonderful view of the river you've just been whizzing up and down!

Amazing Amazing Amazing!
Went with my husband, one year-old little boy and a friend who was staying for the weekend from germany. Completely awesome and would totally recommmend it to anyone & everyone! It was great way for our friend to see the sights of London but we loved it too...as did our little boy. Staff were mazing, providing us with warm coats and looking after little Charlie really well. Great music too!

Very Great Date!
Took my boyfriend (of six years) on this recently as part of a "we should go on a date agin" phase that we are going through. We both completely enjoyed the experience, from the comedian guide to the hold on tight as we sped past Canary Wharf, it was a wonderful and new experience to share together.... Highly recommended to all.
