We went to a bar recommended by a friend first called The Waterway which was great, definitely good for an early date and a warm summers evening as they have cushioned low walls on the decking area outside the bar so you can sit out comfortably and overlook the canal watching the barges and ducks etc - very romantic and have been back since and loved it again!  

Headed to Idlewild as the evening cooled down and really liked this bar too, low lighting, candles, cosy sofas, all the right ingredients for a perfect date!

Booking Essential I went here for the first time just a couple of days ago when the weather was fantastic. Great atmosphere, great location and tasty cocktails. Important: If the weather forecast is good then book a table in the outdoor terrace 3-4 days in advance to avoid disappointment. Nothing worse than waiting around with your date.
