Date Description

first date South, East

Ever found yourself trying to decide between the theatre, a gallery, food or a bar? Ponder no more… this place has all four!

If you are looking for the perfect location for a first date this is it. Original, fun and all your nights’ entertainment under one roof. The Menier Chocolate Factory in Southwark houses a fringe theatre, a gallery, a restaurant and a bar.

Thumb - Menier exterior       Thumb - Menier interior

So, start your date with a wander around the gallery; you can do your “bit of culture” for the week and hopefully impress your date. Then have a delicious dinner in the charming candlelit restaurant.  Finally, the theatre.  Yes, two bits of cultural enlightenment in one night, who wouldn’t be impressed?!  The Chocolate Factory houses a range of fringe productions, so you may be able to watch a gem before it hits the West End. After the play you can have a drink, talk about the play and hopefully book in the next date.

The only draw back about this date is you've set your bench mark high and your second date will have to be amazing! Still, we should be able to help you with that…

Great litle theatre
Took my date here for our second meet up. You'll impress your date that you know about this little gem of a small intimate theatre hidden away in SE1. (less than 10 minutes stroll from London bridge station) . Small venue with maybe 200 seats so even the back seats feel close to the stage. Its constructed in the middle of the old factory building with massive exposed wooden support beams visible throughout. Restaurant looked ok but we didn't eat there. Great venue currently hidden from the masses.
