|

We've said it before but there is a lot of great stuff to do in Notting Hill, so here we've tried to come up with something a bit different!

Start your date by meeting outside Notting Hill tube station, then amble on up Portobello Road to the imaginatively named Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising, which quite simply, excusing the awful pun, does what it says on the tin!
Make sure you take a look at how to get there first as it's not signed from Notting Hill Gate - you don't want to look like a tourist now do you?!
This museum is a wonderful look back at packaging through the ages and will provide you with loads of material for your date. Do you remember the Pillsbury Doughboy? The Milky Bar kid? These fond memories will be amongst many others that come flooding back!

After the museum you will obviously need to head to a bar to have a de-brief and to discuss your youthful memories of chocolate bars now extinct and other such important issues. Happily, there are gazillions of wonderful options right on your doorstep, so it really depends what sort of mood you're in! If it's a chic but laid back morning coffee or afternoon tea you're after, head to Daylesford Organic on Westbourne Grove (last time GDG was there we spotted Claudia Schiffer having a cheeky late, or was it a herbal tea…?). Perhaps it's early evening and you're more in the mood for a cocktail, in which case The Londsdale is seconds away, and the quirky but super-cool Beach Blanket Babylon is just around the corner. Finally if you're up for a bite to eat, we love El Pirata Detapas, with its incredibly good value gorgeous Spanish Tapas - it's seriously sexy stuff…!
