Notting Hill is bursting at the seams with wonderful places to go out and we've already suggested many excellent dates in the area. This, however, is a real gem and our personal favourite.

First things first, dress up. We're not taking you anywhere particularly smart, but you've really got to look (and feel) the part if you're going to enjoy smoothing your way around this trendy neck of the woods.

Dressed and raring to go, your first stop is The Lonsdale. If it's a nice evening, get there early and enjoy your first drink in the sun. We're going to be particularly demanding on this one and insist that drink number one is a Wibble. Don't ask what's in it, we've no idea, but it tastes fantastic and guarantees you an amazing night.

      

When you're ready, it's a short walk east and then up Portobello Road to our restaurant choice for the evening, E&O. We LOVE this restaurant. Unfortunately so does everybody else, so you really do have to book well in advance, but it is undoubtedly worth it. It's sleek, vibrant and full of beautiful people - even the odd celebrity. In a format designed for dates, you're advised to order multiple different dishes from the Pan Asian menu and if you can bear to, share them. If you're only going to eat here once (somehow we doubt that) you've simply got to try the blackened cod. Mouthwatering. Continue with cocktails or move onto wine or beer, the choice is yours and anything goes.  

Chances are that by the end of all of this you may not need another venue before heading home (yours or mine?), but if you insist, we recommend Montgomery Place. Literally just across the road, this sassy cocktail bar is sure to seal the deal.
