A gentle walk out of the back of paddington station leads very quickly onto the little known piece of London waterway that is the Paddington Basin.

Beautilful in the summer with outside seating in the many bars and restaurants along the waterside. Busy during the week after the office workers come out to play.  Sublime on the weekends.

There are lots of options depending on budget and taste.

Upmarket is the very fashionable and very good looking Japanese restaurant where you can book an enclosed table for two... sky high ceiling and mood lighting really make this place something else.

Mid Range -  myriad of options - gastro pubs and restuarants galore - help yourself.

Nice & Easy - walk along the river some more to the Narrow boat upstream and stop off for a cup of tea and maybe a bite to eat - nothing fancy but very quaint.

As the evening moves on keep walking away from Paddington until you get to some steps - then the comedy club and great little pub are in front of you -  Little Venice's Canal Cafe Theatre offers an easy way to have fun with your date... then a short stroll to Warwick Avenue Tube for a kiss goodnight and then Home to bed...
