Wapping Project
This is a great after work date as it's close to Canary Wharf and the City. Meet your date at the Prospect of Whitby, which is one of the most famous pubs in London. It dates from 1543, built as a simple tavern. In the seventeenth century it had a reputation as a meeting place for smugglers and villains, and became known as 'Devil's Tavern'!
After you've had a warm up drink you can walk to The Wapping Project. Although the idea of a hydraulic power station probably doesn’t create visions of romance and fun, the former power station in Wapping has to be one of the most original settings for a date. Picture an industrial warehouse full of candles and art, with chill-out music playing.

Start by looking at the exhibition, or watching a performance and remember to soak up the arty vibe and interesting building. Next, you can have dinner and sample some of the remarkable food - just make sure you leave room for pudding! It's also important to note that the all-Australian wine list is extensive, so unless you are a wine boffin, ask the waiters to guide you towards the perfect match for your food.
Let's hope the date generates some electricity... classic!
