Date Description

early days Central

We are in no way condoning a drunken date - we all know the hazards of beer goggles - but a little wine can make all the difference... and if it's educational then all the better.

This is a fun activity and has the advantage of remaining so regardless of how the date is panning out! If it is all going downhill fast and you need an exit strategy then once you have spat your wine out in a truley disgusting fashion, got inappropriately drunk and lunged way too early, you can guarantee he or she will not be coming back for more! On the other hand if it is going well, a few more glasses and a stroll along the river and love will definitely be in the air. A perfect follow up will be buying a bottle of your dates favourite wine and sending it them to say thank you. You are so smooth.

                     Vinopolis couple                 Vinopolis

Meet your date on the banks of the river for that real London flavour and then escort them to Vinopolis which is conveniently located on the Southbank and a stones throw from numerous other great date locations. Once inside you can choose from a selection of self guiding options, including wine tasting instruction, champagne, beer and even absinthe. (And we all know what the Green Fairy can do, anyone seen the film Eurotrip?). If you want to splash more cash you can treat you date to a private tasting session, it matters not whether you are ignorant in the ways of wine, whiskey and beer because by the end you will not be. And if at the end of the drinking you are hungry you can choose from one of the four in house retaurants.

But this date does not stop when you leave Vinopolis, take a westward stroll up the Thames and choose from the Tate Modern, Shakespeares Globe, the London Eye and much much more.

Reviews

Great night out
We had a really good date starting off with wine tasting... Not particularly romantic but good for an early date. I thought it might be a bit pretentious but it wasn't at all. A few glasses of wine certainly set the tone for the evening... Excellent!
