This may seem like a slightly bizarre idea for a date but we’ve done it so we know it’s possible (and great fun if you like your action). If you don’t work all hours and the timing can work for you, then head up the M1 to Xscape in Milton Keynes. It takes about 1hr to get there from central London in good traffic and is open until 11pm.
Once you're there you have some cracking choices. You could go for a ski on real snow, which also means you can have a classic, movie style, flirty snowball fight. It's obviously an indoor slope but if you close your eyes and use your very vivid imagination you could be in the French Alps!
The other activity we love is Airkix, which is almost flying! Imagine a wind tunnel that could be used for testing the aerodynamics of an F1 racing car, turn it upright, step into the airflow and you're skydiving.The instructors are great, really patient and helpful, and they will show you how to get into a neutral flying position and then teach you the basic moves.
When the adreline wears off, you'll need some food and you've got all the usual suspects - La Tasca, Dexters and Nandos. Still, at least they are on location so there isn’t far to go.
You can of course go at the weekend, but imagining that half the world’s children will be there too, we suggest you stick to a weeknight date for this one.
