Bonfire Night Fireworks

There's something inherently rousing about fireworks. They're electrifying, mesmerising, and on this night in particular, they'll transport you straight back to being 12 years old and huddling around a bonfire with sparklers and toffee apples. It's these attributes that also make this an incredible date - to set light to a new romance, or perhaps to rejuvenate an older one. So here's how we suggest you do it, Miss Mary style.

First, choose your night. This may sound odd, but in London you'll find displays on the night itself (a Saturday this year) and on the surrounding days. Once you've got that sorted, you need to choose your location. We suggest picking one where there's food and drink available and preferably a nice big bonfire to add to the mix.

Get there early and enjoy wandering around the food stalls where you can munch on a hot dog, tuck into a toffee apple or quench your thirst on something stronger… It'll add to the enjoyment of the night and build on the relaxed and playful atmosphere you're going for.

Fireworks over, make sure you've got a plan for somewhere to go afterwards for a warm up and perhaps a night cap. A pub with an open fire? Your place...?!
