Glyndebourne at Somerset House

So, you couldn't quite stump up the cash for a pair of tickets to Glyndebourne? Don't worry because this August (from the 20th to the 22nd) Glyndebourne comes to London, live on the big screen, transforming the beautiful setting of the 18th century Courtyard at Somerset House into an open-air opera house for just three days.
Bring your picnics and rugs in true Glyndebourne style, or order luxury hampers from Fortnum & Mason. Dress up or dress down. Stroll on the River Terrace before the screenings and enjoy a drink at Tom Aikens new restaurant (Tom's Terrace), or bring your own supplies… the choice is yours.
The courtyard to Somerset House is incredibly beautiful but it is not designed for comfort, so you're encouraged to bring rugs, blankets and cushions to sit on (and we can assure you that you will NEED cushions). Picnics are also allowed, but please don’t bring any glasses or glass bottles as they wont let you in. So, once you've set up camp, sit back, relax and enjoy some world class opera under the stars in one of London's most magnificent settings.
And finally, for all you penniless romantics, the tickets are very attractively priced at £10/15 so no excuses! Maybe next year you'll make it to the real thing...
