London Cocktail Week

Cancel your plans, grab yourself a date and tell the boss you're going to be late – London Cocktail Week is back.
Running for a tipsy making 10 days, from the 7th to the 16th October 2011!
London Cocktail Week is designed to encourage Londoners to try new things – taste different cocktails, visit bars they’ve never heard of and maybe even try their hand at cocktail making too. Sounds to us like the perfect recipe for an inspired date... and frankly, it doesn't take much to persuade Miss Mary to have a cocktail or two!
This year the main event – the Cocktail Tours –incorporates an impressive 200 bars. Each bar will serve a bespoke drink, available for just £4 to those who have registered to be part of the festival.

To make your date even easier, they're even providing original Routemaster buses for free transportation around the capital – dropping you at the doorstep of some of the fantastic bars on the list, at a different location each night. Just look out for the big red London Cocktail Week bus stops outside bars where your friendly bartender will serve mini-cocktails while you wait for the Routemaster. For once your date isn't going to complain about having to catch the bus!
As well as the Cocktail Tours there will also be a daily dose of master classes, pop-up events and late-night parties to enjoy. From the delectable ‘Cocktails and Cupcakes’ at the Sipsmith Distillery, to a Dickensian-themed Doctors and Nurses party at Callooh Callay – there is something to suit even the most picky of dates. Our personal favourite has got to be design your own cocktail umbrella over a G&T at Hendricks Unusual Umbrella Emporium, a pop up bar/exhibition. Genius.
You can sign up at LondonCocktailWeek.com, where you can also see the full list of bars involved, and book the various events and master classes on offer throughout the week. Registration is just £10.
