The Married Date

You've been on countless dates, you've popped the question (or had the question popped to you) and now you're married. Dating over.

Wrong. We're sorry but you don't get away that easily! Just because you are married it doesn’t mean that you can give up on dating, it just means that hopefully you'll be dating the same person for ever, with the advantage of knowing that you'll be going home with them at the end of the night!

Dating when you are married shouldn't be any different from before because the purpose of the date is the same - to have a fun day/night that allows you to spend time with each other. If you don't make time for dating you'll end up getting scratchy with each other because you're not getting enough quality time together.

If your partner works long hours then your time together is especially precious so date nights are a must. Either go out and do something special or dress up for a five star dinner at home: champagne, wine, delicious food and absolutely no TV. If you can't stretch to a glamorous meal, than what about a spontaneous picnic after work? Grab whatever is in the fridge and just go. Spontaneity and a bag of crisps can be just as exciting as a swanky meal. Whether you are out or at home... flirt! You spend all week with this person so a discussion about putting out the bins or paying the gas bill can wait for another evening. Date night is about keeping things exciting and special, not about the mundane issues of day-to-day life. It's a way to stay connected and remind you why you're married as life whirls around you.

Take a look at some of the linked dates below and get inspired.

p.s. girls, it may be a cliché but don't forget the oldest trick in the book... sexy underwear and a pair of high heels!

important
So important... we have a date night every Monday because otherwise it is just a crappy boring start to the week! Nx

tracksuit
I never do high heels anymore - my husband is lucky if I manage matching tracksuit top and bottoms!!!!!

difference
I guess the only difference is that you know you’re going to go home with her at the end … although being married going home with someone doesn’t necessarily mean guaranteed nookie!!

dates
As for actual dates, they really don’t change … sometime you can make less of an effort, like just going to a nice restaurant or bar somewhere, and sometimes we go the whole hog … like going for a nice walk, to an art exhibition, or something like La Clique and then out for drinks etc.
